Drill out these marks, add glue then join the 2x2 with the 2x6. Repeat for all 4 corners. I then put a little bit of plaster on the corners and where I joined 2 pieces together. You want to do this to get rid of the seam. After you put the plaster on sand it down a bit so it is even with the foam.
When you paint make sure you use latex paint. Regular spray paint will dissolve the foam. I added a base layer of brown, only misting it on. I then used a light skin tone as an over coat, once again only misting it on. I then made a stencil of an Egyptian guy and an Egyptian God.

Cut these out and painted them to go on the front of the sarcophagus. I also made a "stone" chest to keep the candy in this was for a trick or trunk out of the foam board too.
A couple of tricks I found, before you paint, you can use a dental pick or other sharp point to chip out some bits of foam. With some practice, you can make cracks and crumbling stone effects. You can also trace some hieroglyphs with a ball point pen, being careful not to break the surface of the foam. This will indent the drawing into the foam before you paint. Paint, and then give it a dark brown wash to fill in the cracks and shadows.
